In the Beginning…
So, I would like to begin by saying thank you. If you have read this far, you must have nothing better to do. So, here we go.
I hope this blog shows some insight into my own story of being a designer. Everyone has a story, something to say, something to learn, and something to teach. I have a story to tell, and something to say (on just about everything). Although I don’t care if my voice is never heard, I have a voice, and there is always someone that listens. I am not done learning and perfecting my craft, and I still have something to teach. I hope to accomplish these things, and much more.
A little about me. I live in a cornfield, somewhere in between Chicago and Omaha. I have 1 wife, 2 dogs, 3 kids, a really expensive laptop and a tiny house. My giant dog (part great dane) and my 3 kids are plotting to overthrow my wife and I on a daily basis. I originally didn’t go to school for graphic design, but realized I was terrible at math and hated organic chemistry, and figured the engineering world was not for me. The pay would have been nice, if only I had been ok with terrible grades.
Then one day, I decided to give it a go in the design world. I have always been the creative one in the family, so a career in graphic design was not as far fetched as it sounds. I received my very first 4.0 (in all of my life) in college, after starting in the Graphic Design program, so i figured I was doing something right.
I had some pretty up and down times, contemplating dropping out, but then it clicked, I was actually decent at design, and wanted to go more in debt to prove my worth. So I transferred to a University, and got my very expensive Bachelors Degree, Yay me!
4 jobs, 2 cars, and 6 years later, here I am. Designing designs and doing the graphic design. And if you have a hard time hearing the sarcasm on this page, I’m sorry.
Well, thats a small snippet into my life, if you want a deeper dive into my life, I can give you my therapists number. If you have seriously made it this far, good for you!
Contact me up if you have ideas for design blogs, need a hug*, or want to hire me for my design skills.
*due to current situations with COVID-19, awkward stares and elbow bumps will be used instead of hugs, until further notice.
**I am a designer. This means that I can read minds. If there are spelling errors, you can submit a ticket to the help desk.
